 | Personal JAZ made it’s début in Cedar Rapids almost two decades ago. Like a perfectly harmonized group, Personal Jaz lead by Jan Whalen, started primarily as a seminar and presentation coaching firm. She and her team delivered power, intriguing workshops and seminars to a multitude of organizations from corporations like General Mills, Monsanto and AT&T to local Boys and Girls Clubs and other educational programs.
In fact, Personal Jaz took it to the next level in the local schools. We established a youth speakers bureau called “Character Safari” which became one of the most requested mentoring programs in the area and a children’s speaking/listening/leadership curriculum “Speaking and All that JAZ” that was also used throughout the city.
As the years progress, our business and network grew. Over the last 15 years, we have coached hundreds of speakers—including CEO’s, politicians, engineers and sales people. So to capitalize on our experience and expertise, last year we expanded to a speakers bureau. As a speakers bureau, we have created an organization that reflects the need and values of today's culture. Now located in the Phoenix area we act as an agent to “uplifting” speakers and authors; connecting them to the perfect audience.

Founder, Janet Jaz (Jan Whalen) is one of about 90 people in the world who has earned a Master of Arts in Servant Leadership. Whalen's eclectic past includes: university instructor, author, book shepherd, Toastmasters speech contest winner and black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Her most cherished leadership positions were: president of the Cedar Rapids Boys and Girls Club, trustee for Kirkwood Community College and Linn-Mar Foundation board member.
